We had our outstanding experience at Voodoo Bayou on the 4th of July when family came to visit from San Antonio, TX. It just so happened that one family member wanted Cajun food. Perfect! We wanted the same after we discovered Voodoo Bayou via YELP a some months ago. We parked, and headed around the corner. One before you enter the restaurant, you may take notice of the signage beamed down to the sidewalk from somewhere above. Think the Bat Signal, but instead of in the sky, its one the sidewalk. Although it was 4th of July, Las Olas Blvd was not packed. So we were able to get excellent pictures of the impressive outside. Once inside, we continued to be amazed. The décor was upscale, far from what you would expect from a Cajun restaurant. The liquor wall, the ceiling, the menu material, and the VIP lit with red lighting, all stated Voodoo Bayou meant for every patron to have a more than memorable experience there! The upstairs level didn't disappoint either. Even the restrooms were sights to behold! Our server was jovial and on the ball! He had our water, drinks, and food out to us post haste, and never hovered over or around us. We always appreciate this style of service. Everyone enjoyed their food. It was a night we will always remember! One final amazing thing about Voodoo Bayou is they have a specialty drink called The Mistress. You get their "One Of A Kind" drink, and you can buy the Elvira Tiki Mug as a keepsake!

I had a great dinner at Voodoo Bayou. The food was delicious and the restaurant was lively with an upbeat atmosphere. We shared the shrimp app, biscuits with jam and the deviled eggs . We enjoyed all of it! For my main I ordered the smoked chicken wings and my boyfriend had the gumbo with a side of red beans with rice and a side of watermelon salad. The wings were smoked and perfectly cooked. We ended the night with a creamy banana pudding (yum). Our sever was excellent and quick. At the end of our meal, the manager offered us complimentary drinks if we moved tables for the band so they could set up. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was due to the fact that the young hostess (who I can only describe as a girl with a lip piercing) was rude and unfriendly. Not sure what her issue was, but she was very unpleasant. Overall, Voodoo Bayou is the perfect addition to las olas blvd.

I love this restaurant! Just everything about it. The aesthetics, the flavor of the foods, the service everything is amazing here. On wednesdays the have oysters starting at $1.25 which is amazing! I def took advantage of that. Saturdays is their busiest day, they have a live band. It tends to get loud inside but it's okay. I love have different items, chicken and waffle is a shareable plate atleast to me. You'll have to extra for extra syrup which is 1$. The drinks are perfect... PLEASE PLEASE try the mistress drink and the expresso martini. Non alcohol drink; try: sweet ice tea! let's not speak on their corn bread OMG! TRY IT!

I wish I discovered this place before I had dinner elsewhere. I was in Fort Lauderdale for a meeting and stayed across the street at the historic Riverside Hotel. The planner of the meeting had us all go to Coconuts (see my review) as that has been a destination for this company for several years. Voodoo Bayou is such a cool spot. The cathedral stained glass windows behind the bar brings a lounge vibe especially at night as the entirety of the interior is very dark. Most of us had drinks and dessert while our one companion ate a late dinner (and I wish I was able to eat dinner here instead of the other place as the food look fabulous). Our friend got the jambalaya and he said it was fantastic and full of flavor. We all split two desserts: beignets and monkey bread. Both were so freakin good. The monkey bread was an ooeey gooey treat that we picked apart in record time. The leftover beignets made it back to my hotel room but didn't last the night. While a couple people in our group got beer and whiskey, three of us got The Mistress cocktail that came in the "One of a Kind" Elvira Tiki Mug. It was les Tiki Mug and more Jesus Candle with Elvira on it instead and the drink was quite tasty that we all got two more rounds each. It paired extremely well with the beignets and monkey bread. Just looking over the menu, there are so many options that I would love (chicken and biscuit, chicken and waffles, fried chicken sandwich, some of the handhelds, wood-fired options, and more)! I will be back and I will be visiting just to get the chance to try their dinner menu. While there, there was also live music and had it not been so humid, we may have stayed and listened more and enjoyed more of their cocktails. The servers were extremely helpful in food and drink selections. And the place was huge - perfect for groups of all sizes or just a nice evening for couples and families especially with their eclectic menu.

6/7/2024 We went to Voodoo Bayou in Las Olas since my husband received a gift certificate for his B-day. The restaurant looked just like we were in New Orleans. Our waiter Gregory was FANTASTIC, he came to the table several times to ask how we were doing, and about our food. I order the Jambalaya and my husband had Chicken & Biscuit w/honey. The food was excellent, and the portions are large enough that we both brought back the other half. For dessert we ordered the Beignets. We have been to New Orleans and several times we had the Beignets at the famous Cafe Du Monde. We both thought these were BETTER. They were delicious and we brought a couple back so we could have them at home. This restaurant was not known to us but we certainly be back. We are looking forward to trying other dishes and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
